Google is always testing some new design, especially on its search page. Most of these experiments never make it, and even the ones that eventually end up in the regular search page go through different iterations. One of the more recent experiments had Google remove the full URLs in results, replaced by the title of the page the result linked to. In the most recent, Google is trying out a new, cleaner look for the search results, and it's definitely an improvement.
